Unveiling an Unique Steam Demo: Controlling a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have discovered plenty of engaging indie games. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer includes a protagonist that is actually a piece of poop trying to make its way to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

How you interact is easy to grasp: press a one button to leap. Throughout one hundred fifty levels, encounter boss fights and unlock a store to purchase customizations for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions with caution, as a error requires beginning again. Jump off bubbles to launch your character to new heights, cross fragile surfaces, and interact with switches to open new areas. Gather currency to purchase more difficult levels in which the action gets crazy.

Visually, the game features eye-catching environments and catchy soundtrack. Its minimalist graphics with morphing basic polygons evokes memories of players of beloved games like Earthbound.

Even though difficult to think of other games where you control a dung character, gaming have long featured scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from character droppings. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as fertilizer. Naturally, this theme appears heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Despite its silly concept, Unko Technica has already earned notable recognition, such as being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. The demo is ready currently on Steam, with the final release scheduled to arrive on Steam this November.
